Together We Rise! 3rd Annual Contra Costa Women’s March

Men & Women Across Contra Costa County Join to March in Solidarity to Promote Civility, Compassion and Respect for our Planet The Women’s March became the largest protest in the history of our country. Five million marchers took to the streets throughout the United States and the world, sending a strong message of solidarity and resistance. This number included approximately 10,000 peaceful marchers in Contra Costa County. The organizers of Women’s March Contra Costa are pleased to announce the 3rd Annual Women’s March on January 19th, 2019. Other marches will be held simultaneously in San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose, Sacramento, Los Angeles, and many cities across the country.   All community members dedicated to preserving human rights, respect for diversity and compassion for our shared humanity and planet are encouraged to participate and join together.   The gathering will begin in Civic Park at 10:30 a.m., with the rally starting at 11:00 a.m. The march will start at approximately 11:30 at Civic Park and will circle downtown Walnut Creek. The event is non-partisan and all are welcome to attend.

Interfaith Shabbat Service:  Interfaith leaders and friends will gather in the center opening of the space for a special Shabbat and Interfaith service lifting up Women’s Leadership.  Talk to Rev. Will of ICCCC about this part of the day.

The planning committee, including a team of over 60 volunteers are working tirelessly to ensure that the event will be a safe and unifying family-friendly event. The Women’s March Contra Costa County/Walnut Creek is committed to unifying our community, building new relationships, and creating grassroots change. We work peacefully while recognizing there is no true peace without justice and equity for all.   Women’s March Contra Costa is a local, grassroots organization dedicated to promoting intersectionality and inclusivity. Our organization is distinctly independent of Women’s March, Inc., a national organization. Women’s March Contra Costa is independently funded and does not share any leadership, decision-making input or financial connection to Women’s March, Inc.
