Set My People Free – Interfaith Call to End Mass Incarceration

I wanted to let you know that the Multi-Faith Immigration Coalition for Action (MICA) and the Contra Costa Immigrant Rights Alliance (CCIRA) are planning a prayer action in front of the Sheriff’s office in Martinez at noon on April 18.  The goal of this annual event is to shine a light on the problems facing immigrants and people who are incarcerated in our jails.  There will be prayers from people of different faiths, speakers who are familiar with conditions faced by immigrants and others in our jails andthe problems of immigrants seeking asylum and being held at the border.  What better way to prepare for Pesach than to welcome the stranger in our midst.
