Doors Open, a play at Lynnewood UMC

Hello Friends,
I wanted to make you aware of an opportunity and I was hoping you might share this announcement with your networks. Lynnewood is hosting a showing of a musical play called “Doors Open” on Sunday, October 20th at 7pm. This is a play that doesn’t take itself too seriously, but nonetheless gets the point across about the struggle for churches to move toward full acceptance of LGBTQ people. Because the storyline of the play includes focus on a young person’s struggle, I think it would be especially relevant to youth and their families. For us as Reconciling Churches, this is a creative way for us to affirm our message and vision without being as information heavy as we sometimes can be.
The play was written by Mark Teagle, Music and Community Engagement Staffperson at Wesley UMC in San Jose. The play includes 9 original songs and is performed by members of the church.
It is a 50 minute play and includes a brief conversation with the cast at the end of the play. Light refreshments will be served.
